Inflight Dublin has been providing IFE services to Condor since 2010, ranging from VOD and overhead content to design and marketing support.

When Condor identified the need for additional IFE services, Inflight Dublin was pleased to assist and provide a solution that worked best for the airline and its passengers.

What was the requirement identified by Condor?

With new flights being launched to the Caribbean in October 2020, Condor sought a quick turnaround for a cost-effective IFE solution for its B767 aircraft. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, wireless IFE appealed to Condor as a touch-free solution to allow its passengers to continue enjoying IFE on board in the safest way possible.

How we addressed Condor’s requirements

Inflight Dublin offered Condor a trial of its wireless IFE solution, Everhub™, which was quickly deployed in 4 weeks.

• Hardware: Fully certified portable server with hot-swappable batteries and remote syncing and content update capabilities
• Engineering: No STC required. Quick and easy deployment.
• Software: Complementing the portable server, the Everhub™ software platform features a fully customizable GUI tailored to Condor’s brand identity.
• Ancillary Revenue:  Advertising for onboard snacks and duty-free, as well as a SIXT car rentals branded car game were also included to generate ancillary revenue.

• Analytics: Inflight Dublin’s intuitive analytics platform, IFD Insights, was accessible to Condor to monitor survey results, most popular content watched by passengers and advertising performance.
• Content: The content package featured Hollywood blockbusters, TV shows and YouTube content, as well as Games and Publications. Condor’s duty-free onboard magazine ‘bordshop’ also featured in the catalogue.
• Support: Inflight Dublin’s dedicated engineering and account management team were available at every step to assist with the installation and continued maintenance of the solution.

The resulting benefits to Condor

Everhub™ enabled Condor’s passengers to safely stream secure, DRM content directly to their devices on board.

The solution had excellent results in terms of passenger satisfaction & ancillary revenue opportunities for Condor.

Following on from a successful trial, Condor continues to utilize Everhub™ on their B767 aircraft with plans to expand the service offering in the near future.

Inflight Dublin has been selected by Cabo Verde Airlines to provide its end-to-end wireless Inflight Entertainment (IFE) solution, Everhub™.

Commencing in June, Inflight Dublin will equip two of TCV’s B757 aircraft with its DO-160G certified Everhub™ portable wireless server. The Hollywood-approved Everhub™ software platform features a brand-aligned Graphical User Interface (GUI) and interactive Moving Map. Curated from a broad catalogue, the content package consists of Hollywood blockbusters, popular TV shows, Publications and the revenue-generating games platform, Gladi8tor Gaming, through LXM.

Cabo Verde Airlines will also be utilizing Inflight Dublin’s bespoke data analytics platform, IFD Insights®, where they will gain access to intuitive performance reports to optimise services moving forward.

2011

The beginning of a great partnership: Inflight Dublin first signed Ethiopian Airlines as a client.

2014

During a trip to Addis Ababa, the Inflight Dublin team were treated to delicious traditional cuisine and fantastic entertainment at the famous Abyssinia restaurant.

2017

The partnership was extended & Ethiopian Airlines hosted John & Barry, IFD’s CEO and CCO respectively, with Capt. Yohannes HaileMariam at their B787 flight simulator event, pictured below.

2018

Ethiopian Airlines introduced Inflight Dublin’s Everhub Wireless IFE software to its B767-300ER fleet & Philip McCarthy, Inflight Dublin’s Director of Client Services, alongside Laura Begley, Inflight Dublin’s dedicated Account Manager to Ethiopian Airlines, paid a visit to the ever-welcoming Addis Ababa team at their aviation academy.

2019

2020

Inflight Dublin and Ethiopian Airlines agreed to extend their relationship for another 3 years.

Inflight Dublin continued to support Ethiopian Airlines through the Covid-19 pandemic and most challenging time for the aviation industry, to help them emerge even stronger.

Today

We look back at some of the great achievements and enhancements Inflight Dublin has provided to Ethiopian Airlines’ inflight entertainment offering over the past 10 years.

• Supported ET through a number of inflight entertainment systems: Thales Legacy, Thales AVANT, Thales OASIS, and a range of wireless systems.
• Helped them to reach & maintain a 4 Star Skytrax rating
• Expanded their International content to include content from their growing network of destinations, including Malayalam, Korean, Japanese & Russian content
• Provided up to 8 languages per movie – worked with ET & Thales to accommodate their diverse passenger audience
• Produced over 200 pre-recorded announcements (PRA’s) in 11 languages
• Implemented Onboard marketing – Boarding videos, boarding music, opening & closing bumper ads
• Assisted in the delivery of the IFE insert for their inflight magazine (Selamta) & created an interactive microsite
• Continue to support them with their 2025 vision as the leading airline in Africa

Inflight Dublin has been chosen by Nigeria’s foremost airline, Air Peace, to provide a trial of its Wireless IFE solution, Everhub™.

Beginning in May, Inflight Dublin will equip Air Peace’s brand new Embraer 195-E2 aircraft with the DO-160G certified Everhub™ Portable wireless server. The browser-based software platform features secure DRM streaming and a fully-customizable Graphical User Interface (GUI) to align with Air Peace’s brand guidelines. The content package consists of Hollywood blockbusters and TV shows, International content, documentaries, publications, and games from Inflight Dublin’s innovative gaming platform, Gladi8tor Gaming.

Air Peace is a passenger and charter airline with a varied fleet of 28 aircraft (B777, B737, ERJ-145 and E195-E2) and currently services 16 local routes, 5 regional and 2 international destinations including Johannesburg and Dubai via Sharjah. The airline is reputed for its best-in-class flight services and strong commitment to passenger safety.

Inflight Dublin has been chosen by Korean Air, the flag-carrier of South Korea, to provide a 6-month trial of its Wireless IFE solution, Everhub™.

Commencing in May, Inflight Dublin will equip Korean Air’s legacy fleet with the DO-160G certified Everhub™ Portable wireless server. The Everhub™ software platform will be accessible to Korean Air’s passengers through Inflight Dublin’s web-based passenger application which features a brand-aligned Graphical User Interface (GUI) available in up to 12 languages. The content package consists of Hollywood blockbusters and TV shows, selected International content, documentaries and games.

Korean Air is the largest airline in South Korea with a fleet of 100+ aircraft and flights to almost 150 international destinations.

We started out as Inflight Audio in ’84 in a small studio with two employees and our focus was entirely on audio, specifically analogue. Ken Harley, who is still with us today, joined in 1998 when we moved to a two-room location and added a Tech Guy to bring Inflight into the Digital Age! Ken started as an audio engineer and studio manager and now is the Head of Analogue Audio as well as being the glue that keeps our physical office together!

In 2000 Megan Fannin joined our ranks as an Account Exec as one of 8 staff members, she is now the Head of Operations for the entire company and knows more about operations than anyone else.

Shortly afterwards in 2002, we moved to a new office in Ranelagh and Pat Nolan came on board as an Audio Engineer, rounding the numbers up to 10. Pat is now Head of AV and IT and is the go-to man for all computer issues in the office.

In 2004 Barry Flynn arrived as Output Manager and our numbers rose to 15, and today Barry is our Chief Commercial Officer and the man with all the knowledge.

It wasn’t long after that when Clint Withington arrived in 2006 as a video editor, our numbers were about the same and Clint still works today in our Video department and can answer any question you may possibly have about video.

Immediately afterwards in 2007, Philip McCarthy joined us in the Output Department and we kept steady at 15 staff. He’s now one of two Senior Account Managers and is always willing to impart his wisdom.

Shane Healy arrived in 2010 as an Output Engineer and moved from that, to Head of Audio, to the Account Manager he is today.

It was after that in 2011 that we moved to Belfield Office Park and grew to a staff of 25 people and John White became our CEO.

Now here we are in 2019 with two offices, 75 incredible staff and every day we keep growing. Something we couldn’t do without the backing of our wonderful employees.

Inflight Dublin is delighted to announce the appointment of Howard Clark as Sales Director.

Howard Clark brings with him over 20 years of experience and knowledge of the IFE and Airline industry. Howard was part of the team who started IFE Services limited, in his role as Customer Services Director he quickly established a successful reputation in supporting & developing long-term customer relationships.

He then moved into the role of Business Development Director for 16 years. Following the acquisition of IFE Services by GEE, Howard was engaged by Hotel Connections in Miami to build a global client base in the Airline Crew accommodation business. He returned to the IFE industry in 2015 as Sales Director for GEE. Throughout his long IFE career, Howard has a strong reputation for delivering IFE solutions to Airlines.

With full responsibility for the sales and business development activities of Inflight Dublin’s business, Howard will play a key role in meeting the company’s aggressive growth goals as well as building on the firm’s outstanding reputation for proactive IFE service and speedy delivery to all clients.

Howard Clark added: ” I look forward to being part of Inflight Dublin’s Global team, and relish the challenges ahead as we continue with our ongoing growth and development within this fast-changing industry. As always, customer service will always be my number one focus and Inflight Dublin are perfectly positioned to provide this.”
